In brightest (holi)day...
I posted this in its entirety on the SPWUG blog site, but this is just too cool a story to not post here as well.

*****

I was planning to write a post concerning the holidays and other festive things, but something really weird just happened to me and I decided this was way more interesting. At least I hope it is.

The other day I was walking to the supermarket when I felt something in my boot, poking me on the foot. When I got home I fished around inside my boots and found nothing. The next day I felt nothing, even as I trudged through the mall while Christmas shopping. I got home and took off my boots. Nothing.

As I was putting on my boots this morning I felt something poke me in the foot again. This time I immediately reached inside and pulled out the last thing in the world I ever expected to be in there.

It was a Green Lantern ring.

For a split second I didn’t register the fact that it was too small for my hand, or that it was made completely out of cheap plastic, or that it looked like something you’d find at the bottom of a cereal box. All that crossed my mind in that split second were three words… “It’s about time!”

I still don’t know how this little thing managed to get into my boot and evade detection for two straight days. All I know is that for one tiny second I thought I was finally getting something I’ve always wanted for Christmas.

Superpowers.

Holy chillie Mookie as a superhero now that is something that should happen... ;p
And I got to say that my reaction would be slightly like that if you look away from the fact that I would take it as a sign that my quest to rule santatown finally had got me an hero to fight. But lets not go in to technialitys...

Just in case you never find that ring...you could always create your own.

Nightwish!
I wouldn't say it's the only reason I like your blog, but I'm glad I read it because you have introduced me to Nightwish, and they are fucking awesome. You've mentioned Dark Passion Play, but have you listened to some of their other stuff? As much as I didn't want to side in the whole Tarja/Anette thing, I find myself drawn to the Tarja-sung stuff. Some favorites o' mine include Crownless, Wanderlust, Bless the Child, End of All Hope, and if it weren't for While Your Lips Are Still Red (I'll admit to being jealous of Marco's hair), I wouldn't have found all this fun music.

For tl;dr TY MOOKIE.

I'd love to look in my shoe one day and find a ring that gives me super powers... but your missing one thing. The green latern!

Last time I put on some wellies, the squishy thing in the toe was a dead rat.

Here's hoping I get a Green Lantern ring next time round.

A ring works...
Better yet...something like finding the Star Rod in the pocket of a coat you almost never wear.

Good thing I didn't find it. My first reaction would have been similar, but more along the lines of "I will MAKE this dang thing fit! Someone start looking around for a giant lantern, for Pete's sake!"

Then I'd have to fly to Antarctica. You know, because I could.
