That's so gay!
I just... couldn't... resist...

10 Best reasons Gay Marriage is wrong:

1. Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4. Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Re-post this if you believe love makes a marriage.

I can testify that I've been around my 6'7" boyfriend for nearly 4 years now and I'm not an inch taller than I was.

Dammnit! I appear to have missed out on the "hanging out with tall people makes you taller" clause.

I feel too short! ... Although I'm told 5'7" isn't short. But I always come up short! *shakes fist*

(randomly) Average for a female is 5'4", and for a male is 5'9"-5'10"

I showed this to my overly conservative grandfather and he basically resorted to raging insults as opposed to thoughtful, logical arguments. And since my grandfather prides himself on his logic and advanced thought processes, it was a rather amusing thing to see.

I did the day of silence my junior and senior years of high school (erm, the past two years). My junior year was the first year we had ever organized a group of people to observe it and participate, and let me say that the response was unbelieveable. People threw garbage at me, called me fag, gave me dirty looks, called me a lesbo, spit at me, screamed in my face, or worst of all, did nothing. Not one teacher stood up for me that day, not one person said "stop it, she's allowed to do what she wants."
Happily though, the next year was the year of revilation it seems. If anyone said anything mean or rude to us it seemed like a mob of people would appear out of nowhere and say "LEAVE THEM ALONE" all neat like. I'm glad my school learned to stick up for the underling :D

I'm done rambling now. awesome post, it's going to my LJ. <3<3

This would be fine and dandy if it didn't sound like it was trying to stuff words into the mouths of people who aren't against it, but don't support it, either.

well, I think the point is, its a statement made and dispersed by people who do support gay marriage. Its not putting words in anyone's mouth, but it is blatently not neutral. Its fine if you choose to remain neutral, but the person who chose to post this is on purpose saying they aren't, you see?
